We have released a new Ant-Stress health tea called Relax to aid in the management of stress related symptoms.
Modern life is full of stresses that are damaging our health, moods, relationships and quality of life.
Deadlines, delays and constant demands upon our time or resources are causing our bodies to operate in a state of chronic stress or anxiety.
Our bodies respond by releasing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol and if overloaded for too long these hormones will ultimately impact our nervous system resulting in serious consequences.
The effects of stress on the body are well documented and so too are the common sense advice prescribed to help you avoid or reduce stress.
In a broad sense, there have been 2 different types of treatments for stress related health issues
- Managing stress through physical (exercise) or social activities (talking, counselling, having fun), or
- Making lifestyle changes via diet, assigning dedicated relaxation times and increased sleep.
But what if all the idealistic words about combating stress are not enough ?
What if you can't slow down, rest, relax or take the required opportunity and find yourself hitting the alcohol, cigarettes or drugs as a "stress reliever" to relax ?
Stress manifests itself in different ways and can affect or cause various challenges to individuals.
Our Relax tea combines the benefits of green teas with that wonder herb Gotu Kola
Gotu Kola has been claimed to enable many health benefits ranging from purifying the blood (treating many skin conditions), improving nervous disorders and specifically combating stress and depression.
Other benefits of Gotu Kola include increasing libido, use as an anti-aging tonic, minor burns, scars, skin ulcers, wound healing, rheumatism, blood diseases, congestive heart failure, urinary tract infections, venereal diseases, hepatitis and high blood pressure.
100g sealed pack with zip lock containing Green Tea and Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola).
Suggested Brewing Instructions
We recommend a dosage of 1 teaspoon per 200ml water
Brew or steep for 1 to 3 minutes (depending upon desired strength levels) at temperatures of around 80 deg C
As with many quality tea preparations, we advise against brewing with water at boiling point.
Serve hot or chilled (over ice)
Our Promise - quality and freshness
Just like the extreme measures we undertake for our premium grade coffees, we also take the same approach with all our teas.
The Relax tea is fresh product that arrived in late Jan 2016 and is stored in our special climate controlled cool room. No other sellers of tea products go to this length to preserve their products.
Most vendors store products in basic warehouse shelving up to 7 metres high for months at a time, where the daytime temps can reach 50+ C. This degrades the quality of plant based products and accelerates both the oxydization and dehydration.
We also believe that cycling our product quickly is the key to ensuring freshness and therefore we have fresh shipments arriving monthly.
Important Product Risk Information
Whilst the quantity of Gotu Kola in the RELAX tea blend is relatively low, we have a responsibility to inform customers of any risks that may result from excessive consumption.
Scientific data suggests the following precautions in relation to high level consumption of Gotu Kola
1. Liver Disease
Do not use products containing high levels of Gotu Kola if you suffer from liver disease.
Stop using Relax tea and contact your healthcare provider if you have any signs of liver problems, such as nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-coloured stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
2. Signs of Allergic reaction
Seek medical help if you have any of these signs: hives, itching, redness, or burning of your skin; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
As the dosage levels of Gotu Kola are low in Relax tea, it is important to be aware of any abnormal conditions developing.
3. Less serious side effects may include:
- upset stomach; or
