Kenya has the reputation of producing the world's best quality coffees - their farmers implement the most advanced practices and quality is maintained at every stage of the growing and harvesting.
Kenyan coffees are sold through a well controlled and organised auction system. They are more expensive than other origins, but that's for very good reasons - Kenyans are more intense, cleaner and higher in flavour that other coffee growing countries.
The farmers have a clear incentive to produce higher qualities and get paid a handsome premium for their efforts.
Rich, strong flavours of blackcurrant and chocolate abound - one of the more intense coffees I've tasted in years.
